Are you a driven and service-oriented building permit officer interested in working in two exciting and development-oriented municipalities? Then we are looking for you to the joint planning and building permit office for Söderköping and Valdemarsvik municipalities. In our municipalities, there are diverse environments, from medieval urban development to archipelago environments, forest and agricultural landscapes interspersed with proximity to larger cities and towns.

We offer you a temporary position as a building permit officer where you will be part of a team of experienced building permit officers and planners. We have workplaces and employees in two municipalities, which offers flexibility for you as a candidate; you can choose to work from Söderköping or Valdemarsvik. As a building permit officer in our municipalities, you will gain extensive experience in the profession through all the varied tasks within the building permit area.

Job Description

As a building permit officer, you will work with processing applications for building permits, land permits, and demolition permits according to the Planning and Building Act (PBL). You will review and assess the design, placement, and technical characteristics of buildings in accordance with detailed plans and applicable regulations. Furthermore, you will be responsible for investigating and making decisions on matters concerning mandatory actions, such as changes to buildings or installations of fireplaces.

The role may also include tasks such as conducting site visits, technical consultations, holding workplace visits, and participating in final consultations to ensure that construction projects are carried out according to applicable decisions and regulations. Other tasks that may be relevant within the position include processing applications for exemptions from the shoreline protection regulations and supervision cases regarding violations of building legislation or supervisory actions to ensure compliance with shoreline protection regulations. The office also works with cases related to housing adaptation. There is an opportunity to work remotely 1-2 days a week when the tasks allow.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with education as a building permit officer or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have good knowledge of PBL, BBR, and the Environmental Code's regulations regarding shoreline protection. Experience in building permit processing and building inspection is an advantage, as well as experience working in a politically governed organization. If you have experience with the case management system EDP Vision, it is also an advantage. Since site visits are part of the job, a driver's license (B) is required.

As a person, you are service-oriented and place great importance on interaction and professionalism. Since you will be writing many decisions and service statements, it is important that you express yourself well in speech and can write clear and well-formulated texts.
